When Should Newborn Photos Be Taken | Kingman Arizona Newborn Photographer

As a Kingman Arizona Newborn Photographer, I often get asked ” when should newborn photos be taken ?” While some photographers only feel comfortable getting newborns who are 10 days old or younger, I have had many newborns in my studio up to 3 weeks of age, and they have all done very well for me.

Over the past 6 years of photographing newborns, I have realized that my favorite age to photograph a newborn has been when they are older than a week old. During that first week of life, newborns are adjusting to life outside of the womb, and mama’s milk has only just barely come in, so I like to give both mama and baby time to adjust to it all.
