Paxton came to my home studio at just 3 days old, and he was such a sweet little guy! I first met his parents and adorable sister this fall, at their fall family session. They are such a fun couple to work with, and had me laughing almost the whole time!
Mom took some behind the scenes shots with her cell phone, which I loved! I enjoy showing people how I work, and what my work space looks like, because it looks nothing like the final image. The images below show how much safety plays an important role in my newborn sessions.
Pinterest makes newborn photography look so easy, but I can assure you that it isn’t, and an image like this one shouldn’t be tried without education in newborn safety. I have taken several classes specific to newborn photography, and would never put those precious babies into a dangerous situation. Myself, mom or dad is always right next to baby, as the image below shows.
This image is a composite. For safety reasons, dad is spotting baby with his hands. Once I felt like I got a good shot, I had dad remove baby from the bucket and took another shot without the baby in the bucket, and then combined them later during post processing.
When looking for a newborn photographer, please look for someone whom has taken classes, specializes in it, has experience, and believes that safety is of the utmost importance. If you are interested in booking a newborn session with me, please contact me. I would love to hear from you!
