Eva’s First Year

Little Eva was the fifth newborn I photographed, and looking back, I never imagined myself doing cake smashes or milestone sessions back then, let alone monthly sessions of the newborns I have photographed.  However, there was definitely something special about Miss Eva and her family, so I asked if I could photograph her monthly.  It was during those monthly sessions that I fell in love with the whole concept of doing milestone sessions, followed by a big one year session with a cake smash at the end of it.  🙂 Looking back at all of these images makes me feel nostalgic, thinking about my own babies, and how I wished photography was more popular back then, when my oldest were babies, because I would have loved to have someone capture those milestones for me!  I mean sure, I have TONS of snapshots of my children, but there is just nothing like having the experience of a professional photographer to capture those moments, and give you a finished, polished product.  I still hire a professional photographer to take my family’s portraits every year, because my kids are SO over their mama sticking a camera in their faces, and respond much better to a stranger.  Plus, let’s be honest here…the real reason I do it….it takes the pressure off of ME!  I get to relax and let someone else worry about which one of my kids isn’t looking at the camera or smiling, while not also having to worry about the settings on my camera at the same time.  It definitely is worth the investment! Anyway, back to sweet Eva.  😉 I had so much fun watching her grow up during her first year, and the cake smash was ahhhmazing!!!!  It was so great that I will probably way over-post the pictures here.  😉 But first, let’s take a quick look back at some of my favorites over the past year, of this adorable blue eyed beauty.  🙂 And now for the cake smash/one year session!! 🙂
