Sisters & Springtime

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love green trees, fresh cut green grass, old rustic barns, antiques, and wildflowers.

Arizona, my friends, does not have very many of those things, but does have the most amazing wildflowers in the springtime, and sometimes even in the late summer/early fall, but you definitely have to look for them.

I love road trips, so my kids, husband, and myself always enjoy driving around looking for these types of things.

All of the places that I have found with wildflowers are rarely in town.  There is a spot out of town with big green trees and a creek flowing through them, that for the past year and a half, I have tried to figure out how to get to.  I can not even tell you how many times I have driven out to that area, looking for back roads or trails that would lead me down to that creek!  Well, it was on my most recent trip out there when I noticed these spots of purple.  I got closer and was ecstatic to see an entire field of purple wildflowers!!

So, over the past few weeks, I decided to take my two daughters out for a few “sister” sessions.  We had to go out several different times, because our home was plagued by a horrible stomach bug for three weeks, and my youngest took forever to start feeling better.

I don’t have a sister myself, but always wanted one, so it makes my heart so incredibly happy, knowing that my daughters have each other.  There is just a special kind of bond between sisters, and even though there is almost a 7 year age difference between my girls, I can already see that amazing bond that they both share.

Anyway, I just love these images, but especially love the candid ones, where they aren’t even looking at the camera.  They were busy just enjoying being outside, playing in the dirt, and picking flowers.
