My husband coaches high school baseball with Zoey’s daddy, which is how I have come to know this amazing couple. Their story is an amazing story of faith and hope, and the willingness to never give up on their dreams.
They have wanted a baby for so long, and had to endure much heartache along the way. Lauren had numerous fertility treatments/procedures done over the span of almost 5 years, and lost a set of twins along the way, before finally becoming pregnant again, through in vitro fertilization (IVF), with their very last viable egg.
Zoey is truly a little miracle; a rainbow baby, as people affectionately call those babies who are born after a loss, and are a reminder that it does not mean that “the storm never happened, or that the family is not still dealing with the aftermath. Rainbow babies are the beautiful light that has appeared in the midst of the darkness and the clouds”.
I took their maternity pictures for them back in December.
Little Zoey was an absolute dream to photograph, and such an amazing sleeper, which always helps make the session go smoothly and quickly (or as quickly as a newborn session can possibly go…even my fastest newborn session was still 2.5 hours! 😉 ).
And of course I had to use some pink, because she is a February baby, after all. 😉
I love baseball, and because Zoey’s daddy has strong ties to the sport (he once played in the minors), I just had to get a baseball themed shot, too, and I am CRAZY about how it turned out! 🙂
Congratulations Chris and Lauren!!! I’m so happy for you both, and baby Zoey is too precious for words!!! 🙂
Awe heidi this is so sweet! Thank you so much!! We absolutely love the pictures you have done for us with maternity and especially with our little zoey! You are truly such a sweet and cari g person with an amazing talent!! Your the best!
The picture of my beautiful great niece Zoey are sp precious. I am Chris’s aunt/godmother, his mom sister. It is a beautiful miracle her birth. How faith, love and God brought this beautiful little girl into our family.
I am Lauren’s cousin and have loved her deeply from the very first moment I saw her. I am so proud of her and all that she has overcome. Her journey to have a baby has been one of heartbreak and hope and one day The Lord answered her prayers!!! The rainbow has such a significant presence in her and Chris’s life…if you get the chance to see her wedding pictures look for the one outside…she and Chris just happen to be standing underneath a beautiful rainbow <3
